Holiday's come and gone

Just before Christmas I went out for a Christmas meal with my two fab friends, we went to Frankie and Benny's for a three course meal. We mainly got together so we could see each other before Christmas and exchange presents. I got some amazing presents from my friends, I love my tetley tea mug and I got a 101 things to do before you die book, it is awesome I have already started filling it out and was surprised that I had already completed a few of the tasks. We had an awesome night with great food and a good chance to catch up on all our gossip

I can't believe it Christmas is over with already, it seem to take ages coming however my three days off seem to fly past.
I worked Christmas Eve which doesn't bother me I love seeing people do there last minute shopping and the craziness, it makes the day go so much quicker - plus I get out of all the pre-Christmas arrangements at home like mega house work and prep for Christmas meal.
Christmas morning was great, our living room floor was covered littered with presents and we were all like little children waiting to open them. We were all spoilt rotten I got various items from a fab new bracelet to DVDs, Cd's and smelly's. Our usual routine is get up get dressed and then open our presents, then we clear up and then spend the rest of the day chilling out and watching movies and playing games.

With not many days till the new year I am slowly getting excited because there are a few changes happening. I am starting a new blog called 365 which some of you reading might now what it is however if you don't then check back on the 1st of January to find out :)  At the end of January it is my birthday and I have managed to book the week off I have got a few things planned I am thinking either London Dungeon or Madame Tussuad's. I am also off to the Panto soon I can't wait it has been years since I last went.

Eleven days to go!!!!!!!!!!

Everyday I am getting more and more excited, I have finally finished all my Christmas shopping and have wrapped it all up. I know I am sad but I love wrapping up presents, I cannot wait to hand them out to everyone and see the look on there face, that is the part of Christmas I love the most - giving presents.
The next week is going to be crazy with work and family trying to fit everyone in and see them before the big day.
Part of me is also really excited by next year coming round as my friend and me are looking to move out and get a geek house together. I am really excited as I am now at the age where I should be out in the world making my own way and fending for myself. Plus there maybe a few other new developments in my life but I don't wanna jinx it by saying anything yet so stay tuned.

It's getting chilly
Now I am wondering where all the snow is but I must say it seems to be getting colder and colder everyday. Above is me and Nicola out and about the other night and omg it was soooo cold.

The other night was a Lunar eclispe however all I could see was this and thought it was beautiful

Wednesday 7 December 2011

It's nealy here :)

I am a really bad blogger it has been a while since I last posted but things have been mayhem. I really love this time of year, but I always forget how stressful it can get, I went shopping last Wednesday after work and it was like supermarket sweep a mad rush to get anything you could possibly get your hands on. Luckily I had done most of my shopping and was just getting the last finishing touches but it was really crazy. Now all my shopping is done I can relax and just painfully wait for each day to go past till I can give all my gifts out.

I have my work Christmas meal this weekend and I am really excited I went out and brought a nice new outfit and love my secret Santa gift I managed to find after spending week worrying over what to get.

Last week I went out with my fab friends, Nicola and Jas we went to Frankie and Benny's and had an amazing night it is nice to just get away and have a good catch up and giggle.

So I managed to go to the cinema last week to watch The Thing, now I love the original John Carpenter version with Kurt Russell however I really enjoyed this remake. I am usually a little reserved on remakes as sometimes I think the original are unbeatable but I was surprised how good this really was and a few bits actually had me cringing and jumping in my seat. So if you haven't seen it or you are thinking will it be as good as the original then YES check it out :)

Hallowhedon 3

I know it has taken me ages to blog about this but finally it is here.
So from Friday the 28th to Sunday the 30th I had the best time ever! I got to meet people I grew up watching on TV and never thought I would get to, I made some new awesome friends and boogied the night away on the dance floor.
On the Friday my friend Nicola and I made our seem to be at the time long journey to London Victoria and then grabbed two tubes to get to Heathrow Terminal 1,2,3 to say we were excited words can not describe. Once we arrived at Heathrow we took the free bus and once we were on it, we suddenly realised we didn't know the name of the road or where to get off so we had to trust the bus driver to let us know however he managed to drop us off about a mile down the road and we hadn't got a clue where to go. Thank god for google maps as we managed to navigate our way there and finally check in at the Radison Heathrow Hotel which is amazing, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

After dropping our bags off in to our fab room we headed down to the registration desk to get our hallowhedon packs which include photo's to get signed by the guest, coasters, badges and other cool stuff. We had a few hours to kill before the meet up so we unpacked all our stuff, geeked out over our packs and got ready to go and meet some new people which we were really nervous about.
The meet up took place at a pub not far from the hotel called the Pheasant it was quite a small but pleasant pub and the food was to die for the portions were huge and the prices were great. We met a few people and they turned out to be great we hung out with them most of the weekend.

left to right: Immy, Nicola, Kim and Carrie
After the pub went went back to the hotel for the open ceremony and got to see two out of the five guest which were Charisma Carpenter and Amber Benson, it was short and sweet quick hello and round down of the weekend then we all headed off to get ready for the PARTY!

The first party of the event was Highway Robbery Ball and I went as a cow girl and Nicola went as an Indian.

The party was great it was well decorated and the music was cheesy but good to dance to and trust me we boogied the night away.

The next morning we awoke crazy early to get breakfast and start the fun filled day. The breakfast was great good value for money as it was basically all you can eat from hot food to cereal and fruit. Of course I went for tea and full English breakfast and it went down a treat. We had breakfast every morning with Immy and Carrie which was good to catch up on what everyone.
I was mega nervous as I was about to meet Anthony Head and I love him, with all the conventions I have been to he has always been the one I wanted to meet. Standing in his queue to get his autograph I felt psychically sick and was over excited. When we were finally at the front I didn't really know what to say so I sort of just stood there and smiled. Luckily Nicola jumped in and told him that I loved him and I have been wanting to meet him for years and he was soooo lovely, we then had a quick chat about the queen and he signed a photo and my journal. We then moved on to get autographs from Amber Benson, Adam Busch and Charisma Carpenter who were all equally amazing. After all the signings were done we went off for a photo shoot with Anthony and he remembered me from the signings :)
We managed to get all our stuff done which we were really happy with because all we had to do the next day was get the rest of our photo shoots and get Phina's autograph. The rest of the afternoon we had guest talks and a quiz.

That evening was the Halloween party and I thought our costumes were awesome, I went as a killer doctor and Nicola went as Sally from Nightmare before Christmas

I didn't stay as long as I wanted to at the party because I was feeling grotty. I did manage to catch the live band Lecarla and Amber Benson riding the spider machine.

The next day was full of Photo shoots, hanging out in the dealers room spending way too much money. Guest talks, Auction which I regrettably didn't buy anything and sadly the closing ceremony. Then off for a nice meal at the pheasant. The evening party was a chill out party and Nicola had a fab firefly t-shirt she made herself and I wore a blue denim shirt and jeans.

The chill out party was great we danced the night away and managed to sit and have a good chat with the friends with made and swapped details to keep in contact. At the end of the night it was quite sad because we knew the next day we would be heading home :(

Morning came way to quick and we finished packing up our stuff and headed down for our last breakfast, we were joined by Carrie and had a good chat before we all left.

So overall I had a amazing weekend and cannot wait to go again next year!!!!!

Great Weekend

So last week I went to the Dr Who Experience with my family, and it was amazing. At first I didn't think we were going to make it, as we nearly missed our train and we needed to be there for 10.30am but we managed to just grab the train with 2 minutes to go.

Once we were in London we had to squish on the tube as usual they close lines and do work on them so it was mega busy.
I didn't know what to expect as I didn't look too much in to the experience and wanted it to be a surprise and it was a great surprise. I felt like a little kid again it was terrific.

I come away with loads of photos, plus a Photo of me and Stacey in the Tardis. A fab Matt Smith figure and Experience Programme, to be honest I could have spent a fortune in there.

After the experience it was still early so we decided to head over to Forbidden Planet and this is one of my favorite stores ever. I only get to go every so often and when I do I can spend hours trolling the endless graphic novels and amazing merchandise. I did come away with a set of 100 Dr Who Postcards in a cool Tardis box and a few other bits which included christmas presents.

Stay tuned for more adventures next week when I go to Hallowhedon

London Media Show

So the Saturday just gone was the London Media Show and it was awesome!!! I was really excited to be going because there were loads of fab guest going. I was a little disappointed that I went on the Saturday and David Tennat went on the Sunday :(
However I did get to meet Eve Myles, Joe Flanigan, Arthur Darvill and Sean Patrick Flanery. Eve Myles was soooo lovely she was really friendly and easy to talk to, I also got a photo shoot with her and when it was my turn I was nervous as hell I was like OMG what do I do, then she threw her arm around me and we got a really nice photo.
Now Sean Patrick Flanery was HOTNESS, I really liked him when he was in simply irresistible and did a few guest appearances in a few shows I like. When I went up to him he was quite chatty and signed my picture then I asked if I could get a posed photo with him and he said that was fine, when I went to give his handler my camera he took it, put his arm round me and took a couple of photo's of us together.

Sean Patrick Flanery

Eve Myles

Joe Flanigan
As usual I am never disappointed with the fantastic stalls down there to buy from, I came away with loads of cool stuff. I finally brought myself some Lucky charms and Marshmallow Fluff spread (it is amazing with peanut butter!)

Stay tuned for more adventures soon, I have coming this month - Dr Who Experience and then Hallowhedon :)

New shows and new music

So there is a new TV shows that have me totally hooked, Rizzoli & Isles. If you haven't seen it then check it out because you will not be disappointed.
Rizzoli & Isles is based on series of book by Tess Gerristen, as soon as I watched the pilot episode I went out the next day and brought the first book and I cannot put it down. The series stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. Harmon played tough Boston detective Jane Rizzoli and Alexander plays Dr Maura Isle a Boston medical examiner. Although both character's are completely different the chemistry between them is fab they just seem to click. Also it helps that it stars the eye candy Jordan Bridges who plays Rizzoli's younger brother Frankie who just graduated from the police academy.
It shows on Alibi Tuesday's 9pm (UK)

Music I can't stop listening to:
  • Does anybody hear her - Casting Crow
  • I wish that I could see you soon - Herman Dune
  • Trophy - Bat for Lashes
  • Unbeautiful - Lesley Roy
  • Fall in to me - Sugarland
  • Breathe - Superchick
  • Just a kiss - Lady Antebellum
  • For Good - Indina Menzel & Kristen Chenoweth
  • What you want - Evanescence
  • I'll wait for you - Joe Nichols
Upcoming Events
I am so excited, little over a week it will be the London Media show and I get to meet Eve Myles and so many other awesome people. I cannot wait to get my geek on and hunt out for some amazing gadgets and memorabilia (fingers crossed I can find a Harry Potter wand)
Then in a few weeks on October 28th-October 30th I am going with my fabulous friend Nicola to Hallowhedon, words cannot describe how excited I am it is going to be amazing. I have finally got my Halloween costume picked out, I won't give it away you will need to check back later and I will post some pictures of the event.

New Ink

So I got a new tattoo on Saturday on my right thigh, it say 'Live without regret' in Italian (vivere senza rimpianti).
This phrase means a lot to me as I am always trying to make most of my life as I have witnessed how short life can be. Life is all about risks and it requires you to jump. I don't want to be a person who  looks back and wonder what I would have or could have had.
Now people keep asking me why I have different language's tattooed on me, so far I have English, Latin and now Italian and trust me I am planning on getting more. I love different languages there are some many beautiful words out there and I think worded tattoos look fab :)

Stay tuned for new tattoos coming soon :)

Weekend Adventures

The weekend before last I went to Dymchurch with my fab friend and her family to go camping and watch auto grass racing on the Sunday. I love watching racing but I would also love to give it ago. It didn't get off to a great start because there was a few miss starts and crashes but in the end it was a great day although I did get major windburn so for the next few days I was rosy cheeked.

With a week full of work I couldn't wait to the weekend. It was my good friend Clare's birthday on the Thursday so I went round for dinner on Friday and we managed to have a good catch up and put the world to rights. On the Saturday I went to Port Lympne with Clare and her family where I had an amazing day I love the zoo I could spend all day there. The day was also great for weather as it was crazy hot, however with it being so hot the animals were either in their huts or sitting in the shade so you couldn't really see much off them.
One sight that did touch me was there was a lioness in a pen by herself just laying on a platform and when she got up and walked away we thought she had pins and needles because she was walking funny. Little while later one of our group spoke to one of the keepers and he explained that she had a spin defect and had had it since she was born.
We went around on the African experience and saw some great animals also they have a few huts that you can rent out for one night and you can watch the animals graze in the morning and have a sunset and sunrise outing. I am seriously thinking of doing this for my birthday cause I think it would be an amazing experience.

So I have one more week before I am off on holiday, I am not going anywhere I am just kicking back and relaxing for a week to get ready for the huge build up crazy rush to christmas. It doesn't seem possible that it is less then sixteen weeks away I have to start getting some ideas together.
But before christmas I have two awesomes adventures, the media show on October 1st where I hopefully get to meet Eve Myles, Athur Darvill, Alex Kingston and Joe Flanigan. Then there is Hallowhedon from October 28th-31th this is going to be amazing I am counting down the days.

Well stay tuned for some more adventures soon

Movie weekend

Today is my seveneth day of my new diet and I am happy to say I lost 3lb this week, I have been on the special K diet where I eat two bowls a day one for breakfast and one for lunch then a sensible meal in the evening. I have also cut out all soda, chocolate, cakes and crisps. I am usually terrible at sticking to diet but I am actually enjoying this one I am really motivated to get back in to shape and keep a healthy diet.
On thursday I also started Zumba, I have done salsa and contry dancing in the past but nothing this energetic. To say I have the rythm of an ironing board is an understatement but I will get the hang of it in the end :)

I managed to get to the cinema this weekend and watch the new cowboy and aliens and it is fantastic. It makes a change for Harrison Ford to play a bad guy however he pulled it off and even made the characther likeable so even though you start off hating him you end up routing for him. Daniel Craig as always doesn't disappoint however his performance did remind me slighy of James Bond but I love Bond and I loved this. So Craig plays a wanted outlaw Jake who wakes up in the desert with no memory and a strange bracelet on his wrist heads in to the nearest town. When he arrives a series of events lead him right in the middle of an attack by alien ships. The bracelet on his wrist activates and he manages to destroy on of the craft. Harrison Ford plays a grumpy civil war vet Dolarhyde and together with Craig they set out to save the towns people which includes Dolarhyde son. They mount a rescue group and it consist of a cowardly doctor looking for his wife, a precher, sherifs young grandson and a strange woman Ella who is just quite not what she seems. Ella is played by Olivia Wilde who to be honest did out shine the leading guys in some parts, but I don't want to give to much away and spoil it. This is a must see and you will be kicking yourself if you miss it.

Beastly - Now this film I have been waiting months to watch, I know it is pretty obvious what is going to happen because we have all seen the film Beauty and the beast. However I can't resist a good love story and this film does not disappoint. It stars Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer. Pettyfer plays a self obessed teen who thinks looks are everything, when he humiliates a fellow student who happens to be a witch she curses him that if he doesn't find love in a year he will remain ugly and she make him to what he thinks as unloveable and hideous. Hudgens plays a daughter of a drug addict and she is sent to stay with Pettyfer for her protection and overtime she falls in love with him. But does she break the curse? Watch to find out this is a great film

Insidious - Now when I saw this advertised at the cinema the trailer scared me which is rare because I love horror films. However I saw it in blockbuster and thought I would give it ago. It has quite a good storyline but could have a been better in some parts, but the scare factor is great at one point I had goosebumps. Ending could have been better as it just finishes at a cliffhanger which makes you think what was the whole point if you are going to end it like that. But as a stand alone horror it doesn't disappoint one to watch if you fancy being scared senseless

There are a few songs which I can't not stop listening to lately and they are:
  • Ed Sheeran - A Team (Acoustic)
  • Res - Tsunami
  • Levi Kreis - I should go
  • Garrett Hedlund - Give in to me
  • Leighton Meester - A little bit stronger
  • Bon Iver - Skinny Love
  • Kal Lavelle - Shivers
  •

How fast they grow

I can't believe Shelby my beautiful Siberian Husky cross is 9 months old and weighs a huge 65lb, it doesn't seem possible how fast she has grown.

Now this is what she looked like the first night we brought her home

This is what she looks like now

She is a handful but she is getting better as we keep up the training and constant walks. She is still a nightmare for my shoes and socks but I wouldn't change her for the world she has got an amazing character.

When we had a weeks holiday we took her to my grandparents where she met the neighbours dog Kaiser and he is so well behaved. They instantly took to each other and kept hanging over the wall licking each other I think she found herself a boyfriend because they wasn't too happy when we had to leave
