Pitch Perfect and The Impossible

Now I haven't been to the cinema for ages but last week I managed to squeeze two films in, I saw Pitch Perfect and The Impossible

Pitch perfect is a film about Beca a freshman who doesn't really want to be in university but wants to go to LA and become a big time DJ. Her father who is also a lecturer at the uni makes her a deal that if she gives uni a year and makes an effort to join a group and make friends then he will pay for her to go to LA. So Beca joins the Bella's an all girl singing Capella group, and they try out for a competition with fellow group the treblemakers. There are some great songs, a little bit of romance and really hilarious parts. Anna Kendrick who plays Becca who you may also know from Twilight and what to expect when you are expecting captures the screen and has an amazing voice she is fast becoming a rising star. Also starring along side her is Brittany Snow, Skylar Astin who is gorgeous and he has an amazing voice and the hilarious Rebel Wilson who seems to bring amazing humour to any film she is in.
The soundtrack is great I managed to get it a few days after watching the film and I love it, it has a few songs missing that I feel should have been on there but it is still worth a listen. So if you haven't seen this film check it out!

The Impossible is based on a family that survived the 2004 South Asia tsunami  which claimed thousands of lives. This stars Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts who are spending their Christmas break in a newly opened seafront hotel resort with their three children. On boxing day disaster strikes and while they are swimming in the pool they are caught up in the wave and they get separated. Throughout the film you are shown the horrors of what people experienced and witnessed and I cried though most of the film because you are hoping and praying that they all survive and make it back to each other. All of the actors in this film where fantastic even the younger stars who played the children were great. If you are thinking of going make sure you take a hankie.

I know it needs lots of work but I would love it if you guys gave me feedback to help me improve :)

Highlights of 2012 - An EPIC year

So 2012 was a pretty awesome year for me, I got to see and do so much, I also got to meet for the first time all the scoobies (you know who you are if you are reading this) I love each and everyone of these guys.
Highlights of 2012

I have a huge interest in the Titanic and this year it celebrated the 100th anniversary now I went to the London expedition and to say it was one of the best things I have ever seen is an understatement, one of my best friends brought me tickets for my birthday and we went together. It was so well put together and the experience was amazing. With it being the 100 year anniversary this year I have managed to acquire quite a few new collectibles to my collection and obsession with the titanic.

Also this year I went to Hallowhedon 4, now this is the second year in the row I have been to Hallowhedon and this one was 100% better then the first, I finally got to meet all the scoobies I had met on twitter and it was one of my best weekend conventions so far (though I did end up ill but it was totally worth it). Even though a few of us had only ever spoken on twitter and never met in person when we all got together we just all seem to mesh and it was as if we had all been friends for years. Rhys who we adopted as Dad of the group turned out to be one of the nicest people on this earth and has an equally amazing fiance Joanne who both I hope to stay friends with for many years to come. Joey are crazy fun loving Rocky Horror enthusiast and who can boogie on the dance just brightens the room whenever he is in it was awesome. Nicola my equally crazy best friend who got me hooked on conventions may we never drift apart as my life would be boring without you. Immy our lovely friend from the Netherlands who managed to make it to HW4 we were so worried she wouldn't make it but did and it was awesome seeing her again. Carrie who we met at HW3 managed to come to HW4 and it was so nice catching up and hearing how her year had been and fingers crossed she can come to HW5! Stephen how I loved that he was the same as me, not a party animal and quite content drinking tea and relaxing while the others danced till there hearts content on the dance floor :)

We have had some amazing films in 2012 we had - Brave, Batman Spiderman and Avengers! these were some of my favourites. There has also been some amazing TV shows - Rizzoli and Isles, Lost girl and Unforgettable

I was never a huge fan of Michael McIntyre but I went to see him in October for his Showtime tour and I was not disappointed I was in fits of laughter and loved every second of it. If you haven't seen it check it out

My baby Shelby also turned two this year, it is crazy how big she has gotten and how fast these last two years have gone

So these were some of my highlights from 2012 - fingers crossed 2013 will be filled with more epic adventures, STAY TUNED :)

Skylanders

So on new years days my brother and I literally searched every shop in ashford for this game skylanders on the xbox360 finally we found it and if you have not played this game you need to check it out. If you used to like playing games like crash bandicoot and spyro you will love this! With the starter pack you get the game, a portal and 3 characters and then you can buy new element characters separately so through certain parts of the game you can unlock hidden chests and mini games. So I really recommend this game

2013 - Happy New Year

So I know I haven't blogged in ages, I have been mega busy with work, Christmas and new year but fingers crossed things should be getting quieter now and more time to have adventures.
It won't be long and I will be 25, I cannot believe I have been about for a quarter of a century, I am starting to feel a little bit old but I feel that 25 is going to be a good age and 2013 is going to be an awesome year. I am hoping (fingers crossed) to move out this year and also go to many conventions getting to see all may awesome family the scoobies
To also start of this year a few of my fellow friends have been doing video blogs on youtube so I thought I would give it a try, I am hoping that they get better as they go cause right now I am camera shy and not really sure what to talk about so if you are interested check it out: Blog 1 part 1 and 2
